Kathmandu - Krishna Maharjan has become the new 'Miss Newa: Nepal 1141'. In the 15th edition of the competition organized by Naples Fashion Home, Krishna has clinched the top title by beating 14 competitors. Along with the title, Krishna has also won Rs 1 lakh. Priya Tandukar of Sundhara, Lalitpur Patan was selected as the 'First Runner Up' and Kristina Maharjan of Kathmandu Kalanki was selected as the 'Second Runner Up'. They won Rs 25,000 and Rs 15,000 respectively.
Priya won the departmental title of 'Miss-Public Choice' and Kristina also won the departmental title of 'Miss Charming'. Manika Khadgi 'Miss Talent' and 'Miss Photogenic', Rohina Maharjan 'Social Welfare Ambassador Chief' and 'West Skin', Manisha Maharjan 'West Dress', Angela Awale 'Miss Discipline', Lenika Dangol 'West Hair' and 'Miss Hair' Personality ', Saurya Shahi' Best Smile 'and Svikriti Maharjan' Miss Friendship '. Speaking on the occasion hosted by Communications and Information Technology Minister Parbat Gurung, Fashion Home Chairperson Hema Manandhar said that Miss Newa: Nepal has been organized for 17 years to keep Newari art, religion, culture, language, and costume alive.
In the competition choreographed by Rojin Shakya and conducted by former 'Miss Newa: Nepal' Sunita Dangol along with Rojin, President of Nepal Kyokushin Seisin Kaikan Karate Association Sihan Ashok Kumar Shrestha, Manager of Nepal Telecom Saroj Kumar Shakya, President of Special Olympics Nepal Dr. Dr. Shikshita Shrestha, Director of Concern Nepal Vijay Sanju, former 'Miss Newa: Nepal' Elisha Bajracharya and Nepal Lipi Guthi vice president Anil were the established judges.
